Rural and Coastal Planning

CgMs Experience

CgMs has extensive experience in both rural and coastal planning. We therefore understand the challenges faced by clients operating in an environment constrained by AONBs, Green Belts, SSSIs, Ramsar / SAC's and other local designations together with advising on and achieving development in the residential, commercial and farming sectors in rural and coastal locations.

CgMs also understands the changes to the agricultural business environment created by Single Farm Payments and are able to respond to the planning challenges that they create. Furthermore, we are able to offer realistic advice on the opportunities available for farm diversification and development within the planning system.

In relation to coastal projects, CgMs have been involved in a number of development projects where the coastal or waterside environment (natural or man-made) is a pertinent issue. Issues include risk of flooding, drainage, erosion, ecology, marinas / berthing, navigation and public access issues.
