London Bridge Station redevelopment gets the go ahead

As part of the £6billion Thameslink programme, the London Borough of Southwark resolved to grant planning and listed building consent on 20 December 2011 for the detailed design works required for the implementation of the Thameslink programme at London Bridge Station.

The agreed design works include a completely new platform layout, so as to allow a metro-frequency of trains on the Thameslink route, and the creation of Britain’s largest station concourse, providing more space and reduced congestion for passengers.

CgMs Consulting project managed the whole planning application process and provided full planning and heritage advice for the new station concourse development at London Bridge Station which required the demolition of a grade 2 listed train shed.
