Camden Road Overground Station, London

The CgMs Historic Buildings Team advised the British Transport Police on internal alterations to the Camden Road Overground Station ticket hall and reconfiguration and refurbishment works at the British Transport Police’s offices at first floor level above.

Kensington Palace

CgMs are advising Historic Royal Palaces on a proposed new building to the rear of the Orangery for urgently needed new accommodation at Kensington Palace. The new building is in the MOL, a scheduled ancient monument, a conservation area, a registered park and garden and it adjoins a grade one listed building.

Hampton Court Palace

CgMs is advising HRP on two new proposals within the grounds of Hampton Court palace. One proposal is for a Magic Garden for children comprising towers, elevated walkways, crowns and grottos. The second proposal is for a historic kitchen garden.

CgMs were appointed on behalf of Barrett Eastern Counties to advise on the development opportunities in respect of the heritage assets within the Town Centre, principally Statutorily Grade II listed Brooke House and surrounding listed assets within its setting.

Catford Centre: Certificate of Immunity

CgMs were instructed by the London Borough of Lewisham in May 2011, to undertake an assessment of the Catford Centre, and its housing element, known as Milford Towers, with a view to obtaining a certifite immunity from listing.

The CgMs Historic Buildings Team assisted Cranbourne Homes Ltd in winning a unique and challenging bid set by the Vale of the White Horse District Council for the redevelopment of the Abingdon Old Gaol site.

Epsom Hospitals

The project involved two hospital sites in the Epsom ‘Cluster’. CgMs’ Historic Buildings team undertook a preliminary assessment of the buildings and the impact of proposed residential development at St Ebba’s and West Park hospitals in order to inform a ‘risk assessment’ for the clients.

Herts and Essex Hospital

CgMs’ Historic Buildings Team have been involved with the Herts and Essex hospital since 2001. The site was built and run from 1836 – 1930 as two workhouses and after 1930 as a hospital.

On behalf of the City of London, CgMs Consulting provided planning and historic buildings advice on the redevelopment of the Former Homerton College of Technology in Homerton, East London, to provide a new Academy as part of Hackney Learning Trust’s programme of school improvement. The Academy will accommodate 900, 11 – 16 year olds as well as 240 students within a sixth form.

Ladywell Bath

CgMs was commissioned by a LB Lewisham project team to prepare an initial assessment for the conversion and re-use of a Grade II listed former public baths. The report was submitted via the project architects in support of an application for funding. The site was proposed for continued community use.

The Maze Prison

CgMs was instructed by the Office of First Minister and Deputy First Minister (OFMDFM) of Northern Ireland, together with the Environment Heritage Service (EHS), to identify the heritage value of the site and make recommendations for the suitability of statutory protection.

 CgMs Limited undertook a detailed analysis and record of Sir Paul Pindar’s House and the Morlaix Staircase at the Victoria and Albert Museum to inform dismantling of the structures prior to relocation within the museum.

Temple Works

CgMs undertook a full cultural heritage study and evaluation of the history and architectural and historic value of the Holbeck Conservation Area and the buildings within it. As result, the team were able to assess issues arising from proposed re-development and re-use of Temple Works for mixed use led regeneration.
