Milford Haven Enterprise Zone.

CgMs provided an Expert Report to HMRC who were seeking to reclaim unpaid tax in relation to buildings constructed within the former Enterprise Zone. Former owners of the buildings claimed that there was no tax liability because the buildings benefited from allowances confired by the Enterprise Zone.

UK Border Agency, Immigration Removal Centre, Morton Hall, Lincs.

In 2010 CgMs was instructed by UKBA to provide planning support for the conversion of HMP Morton Hall to an Immigration Removal Centre. Since that time CgMs has been further involved in achieving consents, the most recent permission being granted in April 2013.

CgMs were appointed to advise on the Planning situation for this Pre-Departure Accommodation facility. There was significant time pressure to deliver the facility within the first year of the Coalition to demonstrate that this manifesto commitment had been met.

UK Border Agency, Immigration Centre, Bullingdon, Bicester

CgMs were originally instructed to submit a Notice of Proposed Development (NPD), as was required at the time for Crown development, for the erection of a 750 place immigration accommodation centre to house asylum applicants while their applications for asylum are being determined.

CgMs’s Planning and Historic Buildings were advised by the Home Office’s Immigration and Nationality Directorate on the conversion of the former Dungavel Prison to an Immigration Removal Centre housing 150 detainees.
