A proposed planning application for approximately 280 homes on 10ha of agricultural land to the east of Blyth near Newcastle prompted a request for archaeological evaluation from the Local Planning Authority (LPA) prior to determination.

Former Barnton Hotel, Edinburgh

A development application for refurbishment of the iconic former Barnton Hotel at one of the key road entrances into Edinburgh was lodged in 2012. It proposed the conversion of this listed building into 9 flats plus new development of accommodation for the elderly on adjacent land.

Moorgate Fold Mill, Blackburn

Moorgate Fold Mill was a spinning and weaving mill, and was erected in 1840.  A hybrid planning application was submitted in 2012 for a supported living scheme comprising 20 one bedroom apartments; and an outline planning application for a residential development comprising up to 17 houses.

A proposed planning application for 420 homes on 37ha of agricultural land to the south of North Berwick elicited concerns from East Lothian Council over potential impacts on the setting of North Berwick Law, which is an iconic landmark and scheduled monument.

North East Bridgewater

CgMs have been advising Hallam Land Management on the promotion of and securing planning permission for up to 110,000 square metres of employment floorspace, 2,000 new dwellings, a primary school, improvements in recreation facilities and substantial enhancements to the local transport and green infrastructure. The proposals include detailed approval for a 75,000 square metre Morrisons Regional Distribution Centre to serve its south west network of stores and which will create some 1,000 new jobs on site alone.
