Norton Bridge Grade Separation Scheme, Stafford
Network Rail intends to submit an application to the Infrastructure Planning Commission for an order granting development consent for the construction of a new grade separated junction at the Norton Bridge Junction on the West Coast Main Line as part of the Stafford Area Improvements.

The Glynn Pits Scheduled Monument comprises the remains of a vertical winding house, an electric pump house (transformer house), a beam engine house, a ventilation shaft, two mine shafts and damn and reservoir.

Thorpe Marsh Overhead Power Lines, Hatfield, South Yorkshire
CgMs were commissioned to provide additional consultancy support to support an application under Section 37 of the Electricity Act for a new overhead power line linking Hatfield Power Park with the national grid substation at Thorpe Marsh, Doncaster. The power line runs over a 8.8km route and will require construction of 29 pylon towers.

CgMs were involved with the scheme at a pre-planning stage and prepared a desk-based assessment that showed significant potential for archaeological remains within the site. CgMs were then commissioned to manage the archaeological fieldwork before and during construction.
