About
CgMs is a private limited company owned by the Directors which was formed in 1997. The founder directors Paul Chadwick, Kevin Goodwin, Erica Mortimer and John Stockdale joined together from very different backgrounds and with a wide variety of experience in a range of disciplines recognising that by combining their skills and expertise would provide an attractive proposition to clients.
CgMs has an established reputation for providing independent and commercially aware advice to clients in the combined fields of planning and development, archaeology, historic buildings, conservation and a range of environmental issues.
The company
CgMs is one of the largest independent planning consultancies in London. Working nationally, the company offers a unique and unparalleled range of development and planning services based upon many years of experience in both the private and public sectors. The company prides itself in understanding our clients business and in responding positively to their aims and objectives. We offer up to date advice enabling clients to react to the rapidly changing planning climate. Our services are tailor made for each client and we provide a responsive and flexible approach to instructions. Our clients include national companies, statutory undertakers, smaller niche players, local authorities and government departments.
Whilst the archaeology and historic buildings teams have a slightly different professional background, they do share with the planning team a common problem solving approach. This is based on independent advice that is free of conflicts of interest, on undertaking the earliest possible appraisal to identify key issues and achieve resultant savings of cost and time, and on striking a balance between the often conflicting demand to deliver profitable developments and address conservation, sustainability and other interests.
Following the acquisition of John Samuels Archaeological Consultants we now have the largest independent Archaeological and Historic Buildings Consultancy teams. Our main office is based in London and we currently have regional offices in Birmingham, Cheltenham, Newark and Kettering with further opportunities being explored.
